I now have packs of
fabric in 6 graduated shades. Each piece is a little
over 1/8 metre.
These are particularly useful for applique where you often want several shades of one colour to add depth to flowers or leaves. I have 16 colours so far. I can do other colours on request; larger or smaller pieces, shorter or longer graduations. I use two 100% cotton fabrics, a soft lawn at $9.50 per pack, and broadcloth at $11.50, which is a smoother and finer weave suitable for delicate work. | Workshops | ||
I offer workshops in my studio for 1 or 2 people at a time, on hand dying and batik printing. $50.00 for one person. $40.00 each for two people. Hand-dyeing workshop covers: Mixing of dyes and chemicals. Various methods of application. Colour mixing. Colour graduations. Some shibori (resist) applications. Included are 2m cotton lawn, all dyes and chemicals used, & a printed handout for reference including my suppliers' addresses. Batik workshop covers: Types of wax to use. Heating of wax. Dye application. Removal of wax. (I can do this for you) |
